From Wayne Burgess – Shore Secretary
On Wednesday 11th March round 3 of the Wednesday Shore League took place . Competition was for Most Number of Species(inc Mini’s) fished out of Lyme Regis.
A good turnout of 15 members fished in weather conditions that was kind to all with flat seas but dense fog!
All anglers manage to weigh in which was fantastic. Nine species caught were: Dogfish, Flounder, Shore Rockling, Five Bearded Rockling, Pouting, Pollack, Whiting, Scorpion Fish and even a Blenny.
We had a tie for first place between Darren Herbert and Ben Male, both with six species and so it went down to heaviest single fish to determine the winner.
Darren took first place with his Dogfish of 670 gms weighing more than Ben’s Pollack of 546 gms. Congratulations to one of our new members, Ryan White, who came third with five species caught.
A huge well done to another new member, Robert Kay, who caught and weighed in the best shore Pollack of the year so far of 1,056gms.
A £17 rollover from the previous Wednesday competition was added to swell the prize pot to £47.
All these results have now been incorporated in the various shore league tables that can be found under the results tab on the website. http://lymefishing.org.uk/2015-shore-league/
