Boat Match report – Best Pair of Plaice – 7th May 2017

On Sunday the latest round of the LRSAC Boat league took place in the competition for Best Pair of Plaice.

Thirteen members took to Amaretto IV and Pegasus in very pleasant conditions and I am very pleased to record that everybody on board caught Plaice so well done Steve and Lewis for putting us on the fish!

As well as Plaice, Dogfish, Thornback Ray were caught with one Smooth Hound and also a Turbot of just under 2lbs!

In first place was Andy Sheader (fishing on Pegasus) with a well matched pair of 788gms and 762gms giving him a total of 1,550gms. In second place was Darren Herbert (Pegasus) with a score of 1,370gms including a seasons best Plaice of 934gms (2lbs 1oz). Just behind in 3rd place was Roy Shipway (Pegasus) on 1,344gms.

AS far as league placings are concerned, after four matches, Andy Sheader is in the lead on 12pts, in second place is Darren Herbert on 11pts and we have a three way tie for third place with Barry Moore, Adam Morris and Roy Shipway all on 10 pts.

All the relevant tables have been updated on the club website.
