Boat match result – Sunday 2nd August

Thirteen members took part, in conditions which could be best described as challenging, for the Number of Species competition.

Thirteen different species were caught and the winner was Roy Shipway with 166 pts (10 species caught). In second place was Brian Moss with143 points (9 species caught) and third was Tony Bessford with 133 points (8 species caught).

There was one other notable fish caught, a season’s best Undulate Ray of 4,050gms (8lb 15ozs) – the fish was returned safely to the sea.

With regard to the league positions, Roy Shipway extends his first place position with a total score of 23 points. In second place we have Brian Moss with 16 points and in third position is Lewis Hodder on 15 points.

In the Number of Species caught table we have Roy Shipway and Brian Moss tied in 1st placed with 14 species. In third place is Darren Herbert on 13 species.

The next Boat Competition is on Sunday 30th August and is the Bream Festival. Book with your skippers as soon as possible to secure your space.
