Saturday’s Shore Competition Results

From Wayne Burgess – Shore Secretary

Saturday’s match was for Best Single Specimen fishing a “Rover”

17 Anglers signed on and they faced a high tide with a bitter north easterly wind.

Favorite locations were Hive, Abbotsbury, Lyme Regis and Seaton, only two anglers “blanked” and they both fished Seaton.

Most fisherman targeted Dogfish, as this very much showed at the weigh-in, but there were some other notable fish caught. Ben Male a had a Smooth Hound (72cms long by 22cms girth), this converted on our calculated weight scale to be 1,200gms. Brother Ollie Male had a hound that was (77cms by 25 cms girth) and came in at 1,668gms (season’s best)

Rob Garth bagged a season’s best plaice of 385gms, that went along with a Dogfish, Pouting and Bull Huss to give him the “best bag”.

Winners were:

1sr Ryan White with a season’s best Dogfish of 1,100gms  (97.00%)

2nd Jake Bagwell with a Dogfish of 955gms (84.22%)

3rd Darren Herbert with a Dogfish of 850gms (74.96%)

All the relevant tables have been updated on the club website.

Next Saturday match is 25th April – Best Flounder – Lyme Regis (18.00-23.00)
