Wednesday Match (08.04.15)- Longest Bull Huss

From Shore Secretary

15 members turned out for this competition, over 50% of the anglers chose to fish this “Rover” from Lyme Regis. Conditions were superb with clear waters matched by a stunning sunset.

Many Bull Huss were caught but only four were in size resulting in a 3 way tie for first place!!

Wayne Burgess narrowly missed out on points with a Bull Huss of 55 cm caught on the last cast of the night. Various species were caught for the species competition including Ballan Wrasse, Dogfish, Shore Rockling, Shanny, Corkwing Wrasse, Blenny, 3 Bearded Rockling and Pouting.

With there being 3 Bull Huss brought to the scales all measuring the same length the shore secretary made the decision to award the 3 members with the same size, 5 points a piece, and there would be no 2nd or 3rd place, this was agreed by all members involved. Darren Herbert, Ollie Male and Robert Kisielewski all had fish measuring 65cm with Ben Male narrowly missed out with a huss of 64cm.

Next competition Saturday 25th (Lyme Regis) – Best Flounder.
