Report from the Shore Secretary
8 members fished the Saturday comp at West Bexington for the most species including mini species, Anglers were faced with a strong wind in their faces and a rough sea with large rafts of floating weed to contend with. Several members lost tackle to the weed but most carried on.
First place and a new club record went to Wayne Burgess with a total of six species with pout, poor cod, mackerel, dog fish and a smooth hound of 57 cm and a blonde ray of 2.243 kg (new club record)
Second place went to Oliver Male with a pout, a poor cod and a smooth hound of 55cm and 17cm girth
Third place went to Dave White with a dog fish, a pout and a poor cod, Ben Male also managed 3 species but was pipped to the post by Dave’s dogfish.
Now for the League table updates:
We have a new leader in the Saturday League with Oliver Male on 15 pts. closely followed by Wayne Burgess on 14 pts. There is a three way tie with Tony Bessford, Darren Herbert and Dave White all on 11 pts.
In the Combined League (Saturday & Wednesday results combined)
Darren Herbert has a healthy lead, despite not fishing on Saturday, with 27 pts. Wayne Burgess has moved into second place with 21 pts. and the “Male Brothers” (Ben & Oliver) are tied on 20 pts.
In the Species League, Wayne Burgess healthy six species on Saturday night, means that he has moved into first place on 11 species. Darren Herbert and Oliver Male are in second place with 10 species caught.
