Ryan Male - LSD 1,029gms
Ryan pictured with his catch & release L.S.Dogfish caught from Seaton beach that weighed in at 2lbs 4ozs.
This earns Ryan a AT Junior specimen rating of 129.60% that should win him an AT Specimen Silver Award.
He also broke his own LRSAC junior shore record for L.S Dogfish that he set in 2017 with a fish of 814gm - an increase of 215gms!!
Well done Ryan!

Stuart Roy Bussey - Coalfish
Stuart Roy with a new club record Coalfish of just under 3lbs caught on Pegasus in early April.
The fish was caught wrecking using a super slim sidewinder lure.

Mike Hansell NCR Tope of 29.50lbs

This fish has been submitted for a "catch & release" record for the Wyvern Region of the Angling Trust.

Lewis Hodder C& R Boat Pollack 7lbs 12ozs

This fish has been submitted for a Wyvern Catch & Release record

Ben Carter 144lb Common Skate
This is now the new club record for a Common Skate caught in waters outside club waters but caught in AT area "S" (Scotland).
This record will be shown in the UK all areas record on the club website.
It is the heaviest fish weighed in UK waters.
Congratulation to Ben on an outstanding weekend's fishing!

Ben Male - Small Eyed Ray - 11lbs 15ozs
Ben Male caught a 11lbs 15ozs Small Eyed Ray when he went fishing off the Chesil Beach.
Now for the accolades!!
Best catch of the Season, New LRSAC club record, Number 14 on the Top 20 Fish List of all time, Angling Trust Specimen Fish Silver medal with a percentage of 149.35% (just 0.65% outside a Gold Medal), He also broke Alex Rawlings Wyvern Regional record that had stood for two years.
Congratulations to Ben.

Richard Howells - 67lb NCR Conger Eel
Richard with his new club record Conger Eel of 67lbs that beat Phil Crabbe's previous record from 2004.
This fish gave Richard a specimen rating of 167.50% - congratulations to Richard on an outstanding fish!

Ben Male - 12lbs 1ozs Bass
Ben went fishing at Seaton and in one night broke two LRSAC shore records. Pictured above is a 12lbs 1ozs Bass (127.48%) that broke his brother's previous record.
He also caught a 7lbs 7ozs Thornback Ray that broke his own previous record.
This gave Ben a superb 201.91% addition in the fight for the Overall Best Specimen Shield and puts him into second place, just behind his brother Ollie.
Well done Ben!!

Lewis Hodder - Porbeagle Shark
Lewis with a new LRSAC record Porbeagle Shark caught on his own boat Pegasus. The fish weighed in at an impressive 68.5lbs.

Ollie Male - Atlantic Chub Mackerel
Picture of Ollie with a new first for the club and a new club record!
An Atlantic Chub Mackerel caught off Chesil Beach weighing in at 466gms (1lb).

Barry Newman - Atlantic Chub Mackerel
Barry with a new first, an Atlantic Chub Mackerel (just under a pound), caught on Pegasus during the recent four day Alderney Trip. This was one of twenty species caught during the four days fishing.

Adam Morris 27.5lbs Tope
Adam pictured with one of many Tope that were caught during the four day trip to Alderney. As well as many Black Bream up to 4lbs there were Blonde Rays up to 19lbs caught during the four days.

Willow Herbert - Red Gurnard NCR
Willow pictured with her outstanding Red Gurnard of 1lbs 11ozs that not only broke the LRSAC Junior Boat record but also the Senior Boat record!
This fish gives Willow a specimen percentage of 133.69% and qualifies her for a Silver award under the Angling Trust Specimen Awards scheme.

Willow Herbert - Couch's Bream NCR
Willow pictured with her new club record Couch's Bream of 2lbs 5ozs that she caught whilst fishing in a Junior Boat event on Pegasus.
Not only did this fish break the Junior and Senior LRSAC Boat Records but it is being submitted to the Wyvern Region for the vacant Junior Boat Record.

The fish weighed in at 1.25lbs

Steve Fowles - Ballan Wrasse
Steve went to Branscombe for a spot of afternoon fishing on the reef. Using a 1/0 pulley rig baited with ragworm he caught this 5lbs 14.5 ozs Ballan Wrasse which broke the old LRSAC shore record set in 2013.
This fish gave Steve a specimen rating of 118.21% and earns him an Angling Trust Bronze award.
The fish was returned safely to the sea.

Michael Shipway - SmoothHound
Michael Shipway with a new LRSAC boat record Smooth Hound of 16lbs 2ozs caught on Pegasus. The fish also wins Michael an Angling Trust Specimen Bronze award.

Steve Fowles - Turbot

Lewis Hodder - Scorpion Fish
Lewis with the new club record Scorpion Fish caught on the Friday night Species League.
The fish weighed in at 63gms.

Lewis Hodder NCR - Blonde Ray 25lbs 3ozs
Lewis pictured with his new club record Blonde Ray of 25lbs 3ozs caught on his own boat Pegasus.
This beat the boat record that had been set by Roy Shipway earlier in the day and in all the old record was broken three times in one day!

Keir Tweedale's Junior Record Whiting

Ryan Male's new Junior Shore record Whiting of 517gms
Ryan when fishing the last Saturday league match of the season at Cogden Beach caught this Whiting of 517grams (1lbs 2ozs) that broke his own junior record that he had set earlier in the season.
Well done Ryan.

Mike Hansell's new club record 18lb 4ozs Pollack.
Mike was fishing on Pegasus (skipper Lewis Hodder) on 9th December on a mid-channel wrecking trip in 190ft of water when he caught this 18lbs 4ozs Pollack.
The fish took 10 minutes to play with various surging runs fished on a sidewinder lure.
This fish broke Paul Blake's old record of 17lbs that he had held for 5 days when fishing on a similar trip with Lewis. (Sorry Paul!!)

Ryan Male new Junior Record shore caught Whiting
Ryan with his new Junior shore caught Whiting of 394gms which gave him a specimen size of 57.85%. The fish was caught during a club match at West Bexington.

Keir Tweedale - Undulate Ray
Picture of Keir (fishing on Pegasus) who caught this new Junior Boat record Undulate Ray of 13 lbs whilst fishing in the last Senior LRSAC Boat match of the season. This was a fitting highlight for a memorable day for Keir who won the competition beating nine other adults.

Roy pictured with the new club record Porbeagle Shark of just under 55lbs caught on Alice Rose (Skipper Lewis Hodder). The fish took 20 minutes to play as it continued to swim around the stern of the boat before being safely released back into the sea.

Mike Hansell - new club record Tope
Mike Hansell with the new club record Tope of 25.5lbs caught on Alice Rose (skipper Lewis Hodder) caught in October. All the Tope were safely released back into the water.

Ryan Male - Garfish
Ryan with a Garfish of 386gms (14ozs) which broke his own LRSAC Junior club record. This gave him a specimen size of 68.08% and was caught in the recent Junior match fished at Lyme Regis

Darren Herbert - Butterfish
Picture of another new species caught by our resident mini-species record holder - Darren Herbert. Darren caught this fish whilst fishing in Beer & District SAC shore match.
This fish was calculated at 35gms and becomes a new LRSAC shore record as it is the first one caught by a club member.
For further information on this fish check the British Records - Darren didn't!!

Steve Sweet Couches Bream
A very good example of a Couches Bream. This one caught by Steve Sweet (Amaretto IV) and weighed in at 653grams (1lb 7ozs) is the new LRSAC boat record

New Boat Record Undulate Ray
Lewis Hodder pictured with his new club boat record Undulate Ray that he caught in late September on his boat Pegasus.
The fish weighed in at 8,110gms (17lbs 14ozs) and gave Lewis a specimen percentage of 127.72%.
This fish will give Lewis a silver award in the AT Specimen Award scheme.
The fish was returned safely to the sea.

Keir Tweedale - Black Bream
Keir broke the LRSAC Junior Boat Record with this superb fish of 3lbs 7ozs whilst fishing in the 2017 Black Bream Festival. Over 27 competitors took part and Keir came a very creditable third in this Senior Competition.

Allan "Bumper" Nation with new Club Record White Sturgeon
Whilst sea fishing off Vancouver, Canada, "Bumper" caught this White Sturgeon in the Fraser River. The fish measured 8 feet from nose to tail and had a girth of 39 inches. Its weight was calculated at 280lbs at its age was estimated at 85 years.It took 35 minutes for the fish to be brought to the shore.
All Sturgeon caught were checked for electronic tagging before being released safely back to the water.
This is the first time that a member has caught a fish that is older and weighs more than the angler themselves!!!

Barry Moore with 135lb White Sturgeon
Barry Moore whilst sea fishing in Vancouver, Canada caught this 6ft. 2ins. White Sturgeon in the Fraser River. The fish weighed in at 135lbs. This was one of six fish caught with a total weight of 715lbs in a six hour period.

Roy Shipway with new LRSAC boat record Tope
Roy when fishing on Pegasus (skipper Lewis Hodder) increased his Tope record when catching this fish that weighed in at 8,308gms (18lbs 5ozs). The fish was returned safely to the water.

Roy pictured with the new club record Spurdog of 20lbs 1oz ((9,110gms). This fish weight is being submitted to the Wyvern region as it is believed that it betters the old Wyvern record of 16lbs 3ozs.
(All Spurdogs caught were safely returned back to the sea.)
