Last night was the May, Wednesday league shore match for LRSAC . the match was at Hive Beach (Burton Bradstock) from 6.30pm until 10.30pm and the bonus fish was any Ray.
Good advice would be not to go to the left hand side of the car park to get down onto the beach. The muddy, clay slope leading down is rather slippery, as most of the members found out! The wind had dropped out a fair bit and swung around to a North Westerly, the Sea had a good colour to it and just a very small swell.
Eight members fished the match and Smooth Hound, Dogfish and Pouting were caught. Darren Herbert had the fish of the day, that was returned safely to the water, in a new LRSAC shore record of 10lbs 7ozs (C).
First in the match was Ben Male with 5pts, second was Darren Herbert (4pts) and third was Robert Kisielewski (3pts)
All the relevant tables have been updated on the club website.
Darren is leading the combined Shore standings (Saturday and Wednesday league points added together) on 25 pts., Bryn Thomas is in second place on 24pts and Ben Male on 23 pts,
In the Wednesday league Darren is in first place on 18pts, Ben Male is second on 17pts and Robert Kisielewski third on 13pts.
In the Species League Darren is in first place with 8 species followed by a four way tie with Peter Yates, Steve Andrews, Alex Rawlings and Ben Male on 5 species.
