Last night was the LRSAC, Wednesday shore match for June. The bonus fish was Smoothound and the venue was Lyme Regis. All the anglers opted to fish from either the high wall of the Cobb, or from Monmouth beach. Armed with Peeler Crabs, Ragworm, Squid, and a few fish baits, they all set off at 6pm ready for a 6.30pm start. Hopes were high of a great nights fishing, as the weather couldn’t have been better! The plan for most was to try and bag up on Ballan Wrasse and Cork Wing Wrasse in full daylight, and then switch the baits up to try and tempt a Hound at dusk.
Dan Brownley managed the best Ballan Wrasse of the night with one just over 4lb. Ryan Male had the biggest one for the juniors at 635 grams.
Unfortunately the Hounds didn’t show up, but they had fun with the Wrasse, Rockling, Bass, Dogfish, and a nice surprise for Darren Herbert, in the form of a 2.5lb Lobster! Jim Leighton also lost a bigger lobster.
First in the match was Darren Herbert, second was Ben Male and third was Robert Kisielewski.
All the tables have been updated on the club website.
