Twelve competitors took part in the first match of the season for Best Pair of Whiting fished on Alice Rose (skipper Lewis Hodder)
In very trying conditions with heavy swells from the previous days weather fishing was good with everybody on board getting the required pair of Whiting to qualify for two points.
As well as the required Whiting, – Pouting, L.S.Dogfish, Thornback Ray, Poor Cod, Conger Eel and even six very small Smooth Hounds were caught.
In first place with a combined aggregate score of 1,832gms was Roy Shipway. second place was Mark Perkin with 1,526gms and in third place was Andy Sheader with 1,446gms.
