Andy Wray with an 4lb Aussie Kingfish
The fish weighed 4lb and was caught on Sunday 1st Feb in Sydney Harbour in sight of the Opera House!
I was on board my friend Dave Elsmore’s boat called Tenten and using a light spinning road and Shimano 3000 spinning reel, with 20lb braid and 15lb leader. That thing really pulled and lb for lb it was definitely the hardest fighting fish I have ever hooked. I was fishing baited Sabiki feathers with a 25g Dexter style lure as a sinker and the Kingfish took one of the Sabiki feathers which made for a somewhat nervous final landing.
