On Sunday 13th March the Boat Pollack match took place. Everyone was keen to get out because the previous first match of the season (Whiting) was called off because of bad weather.
A big thank you to the three skippers Lewis Phil and Steve who managed to organize 24 anglers to fish this competition. Conditions were not easy – not helped by an easterly wind – and the fishing was challenging to say the least!
Of the twenty four competitors, fourteen caught qualifying Pollack and Pouting, Ballan Wrasse and Cuckoo Wrasse were also added to the species list. Most popular lure was rhubarb and custard 6 inch sidewinder.
Lewis Hodder came fifth and Steve Sweet came four (both with fish over 10lbs) but the extra points on the day and places were as follows:
1st Place Andy Wray 13lb 10ozs
2nd Place Tony Churton 12lbs 5ozs
3rd Place Stephen Saxby 11lb 9ozs

The next boat match is Sunday 3rd April (09.00 – 17.00) – Heaviest Fish (Not Conger Eel)
