On Sunday 7th June, LRSAC entered a  five man team to fish for this annual one day boat competition run by West Bay Sea Angling Club.

Joining Lewis Hodder on Alice Rose were Mike Hansell, Barry Moore, Roy Shipway, Gavin Tyte and Robert Kisielewski.

The weather was glorious but despite all Lewis’s sterling efforts we couldn’t land the dab that we all craved. That said some good plaice were landed namely Lewis’s 960gms and Robert’s 955gms. We couldn’t get a qualifying Bass and the Pollack were only moderate in size.

At the weigh-in it was obvious that the final placings were going to be tight.

We narrowly missed out on third place in the competition but Lewis was able to win the Best Flatfish Prize (pictures of fish and presentation are listed on the gallery page.)
