Boat Match report – Sunday 24th April

The fourth fixture in the Boat League took place on Sunday 24th April. Four boats took to the water with nineteen people fishing the competition for Best Pair of Plaice. This was far and away the most successful days Plaice fishing of the year.

As well as Plaice  – Dogfish, Dab and Grey Gurnard were caught.

First with an aggregate score for his two plaice of 1,810gms was Roy Shipway (both fish were very similar in size). In second place was Darren Herbert with a combined score of 1,718gms. (a Plaice of 1,104gms with a smaller one of 614gms). In third place with a score of 1,630gms, Charlie Kapur, had a season’s best Plaice of 1,148gms but could only partner it with a Plaice of 482gms.

Out of the nineteen competitors, fourteen caught a qualifying pair that gave them 2 pts.

The next Boat Match is on Sunday 15th May from 09.00 to 17.00 for Number of Species.
